Well, it's been a while. I don't really want to know exactly how long it has been, but my mother has been commenting about it. (No, mom, I'm not depressed!) I just haven't been in a mood to share my thoughts and irritations and other views with anyone. Until now. I've been saving up, so this will probably be like the Energizer Bunny--it goes on and on and on....
First of all, this last week was Spring Break! YEAH!!!! I did nothing of major importance--no trip to South Padre, Mexico, Florida or any of the other many Spring Break destinations that are routinely visited. I visited my new "niece" E for the first time. (N & E: She is so precious!!!!)
I also visited my friendly dentist, Dr. E. I received new fillings for some cavities that I seemed to have acquired due to my hatred of dentists. Being an educated person and knowing the importance of good oral hygiene, I still had a huge hatred/fear of the dentist. Yes, I put off going for quite a long time. I finally broke down and had to go when one of my teeth chipped--thankfully, it was a wisdom tooth, and they just took all four out! When trying to find a dentist, several friends recommended Dr. E and associates. I'm very thankful! My fear of the dentist is now gone! (In fact, I laugh routinely while he is trying to work on my teeth.) One of the reasons I like this office is because they make ME feel important. Comfort is their number one goal. I have one more cavity (to be fixed the day after Easter) and one old filling to be replaced, and I'll be as good as new!
Thursday was an incredible evening...(Ok--have to put the side note in here. As I'm typing, a crazy thought pops into my head--and if you've been reading at all, you know this is not unusual. Here is my thought: As I type this, it is kind of reminiscent of watching Doogie Howser type in his thoughts and feelings about his life. OMG!!! I'm DOOGIE HOWSER, MD! Well, not really, but that is what I feel like....YIKES!! Does this date me????)
Back to Thursday. I had been waiting for this day for about 3 1/2 months. I went to the Billy Joel & Elton John Face 2 Face concert. IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!! (Ok--so now the song Fabulous from HSM--not sure which one--is playing in my head. OH THE DEMONS OF BEING A MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER!!!!!!) I attended their concert back about 5-6 years ago as well. It was awesome then as well. The music is timeless. I especially enjoy watching these two VERY talented men play the piano. I wish I had 1% of the talent they possess. I can't even tell you what my favorite part of the evening was--I couldn't choose!
Then, of course is March Madness--or as Dick Vitale would say "MARCH MADNESS, BABY!" I'm not a huge fan of his, but he does nail that on the head. I love to root for the underdogs. Just once I'd love to see a #16 beat a #1. Wouldn't that be something to talk about!! For now, we have to leave our hopes with a #12 or #5...Everyone else is a #1-4. If this is going to be the case, why don't we just have a Sweet 16 instead of the 65 teams? WHY KEEP ALL 65?!?!? Because of the DRAMA! Because people like to think their team has a chance. Because ONE DAY Cinderella will WIN IT ALL!!!!!
Now, it's back to work. I hope the week goes well. I think we all needed the break!
Happy Day!!!!!!
