Sea Life

While Hurricane Ike was headed towards Galveston, TX last week, I pondered the following question: What happens to sea life during a hurricane? I worried about all the dolphins and fish that live in the Gulf. Were they being slammed against the sea wall? Or, did they head south knowing where the hurricane was? Since Ike was so HUGE where could they hide? Earlier today I posed this question to Google. Seems that someone else thought like me! The answer there was that hurricanes only effect the top of the water, so most sea life is not bothered. However with larger storms, deeper water could be disturbed.

I am guessing that some fish were thrown into the sea wall and didn't make it.
