Weekend

Last night I attended the high school graduation of my former students. I was excited to see I had taught the valedictorian, salutatorian, and several of the honor graduates. It was a very nice ceremony for the most part. I couldn't believe how RUDE a lot of people were. They hadn't even gotten to the "R's" and it was a mass exodus from the bleachers. Except they couldn't go anywhere. So, there they stood with their backends in my face. I missed a large chunk of the kids getting their diplomas. If I had been a parent, I would probably have hit someone. I did let my opinion be heard. It was a little better than last year. As per tradition, the audience joins the grads on the field after the ceremony. This year, all of the gates were locked and guarded. Last year, the parents stormed the field, and the kids didn't even get to finish the ceremony!!!

Today, I am enjoying The French Open on tv. I'm hoping Roger Federer will finally win his career grand slam. I'm also thankful that I didn't have to get up at 2:30 in the morning to watch live--that's what happened during the Australian Open earlier this year. I can't belive Wimbledon is just a few weeks away!!
