Facebook

Facebook is all the rage. I joined, my sister joined, and now my mom has joined. I am torn. I kind of enjoy seeing what my "friends" have on their page, but I also see a lot of "friends" posting just for the sake of posting. Do I really need to know they are washing dishes? Do I need to know they are going shopping? Or staying at home with the kids? About a week ago, a former elementary school classmate "friended" me. I accepted. From there, it has snowballed. I have had about 5-10 friend requests from old elementary school classmates. I have confirmed them, naturally. I don't want to be rude. However, now I'm getting posts that read "It's great to re-connect with you." I really haven't re-connected with anyone! I just hit confirm. Eventually I'll post on their wall or send them a message or reply to their message. But at the moment, I don't have time. I don't have time to blog! I don't have time to sleep. I JUST DON'T HAVE TIME!!!!!!!! (And, I am really thankful they have friended me.)

I feel like the worst Facebook friend of all time!!!!! How do you tell people that you haven't talked to in over 25 years that you don't have time without being rude?

Tonight, an old-friend-who-is-new-again started a chat. I just answered her questions as briefly as possible. I was busy doing a bunch of things at once and didn't have time to tell her what has been going on in my life for the last quarter century. I did apologize, but I still think her feelings may have been hurt. Another old-friend-who-is-new-again sent a chat request, and I just didn't answer.

Maybe some day I'll have time....but, not today.

(If any of you new-old-friends are reading this, PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED!!!!!!! And, please just give me time!)
