Before I get on this subject, let's just say I boycotted last Saturday's "event." Usually, I'm all about sending Valentine's etc. However, this year I decided--NOPE! Not recognizing it. It's a HALLMARK holiday after all!
I am going to recognize today's holiday. I don't ever remember celebrating President's Day as a child. We either got George Washington's Birthday--February 22 or Abraham Lincoln's Birthday--February 12 off. We never got both. In my school district, they did wacky things. For a while, it alternated--one year the 12th, the next teh 22nd. Then, for a while it was just the 12th--since we lived in The Land of Lincoln. When I moved to Texas, we didn't get either !
I think this is the first year I have been off of school for President's Day. Crazy, right?
