Have you ever felt like you were running a marathon without actually running? It seems like just five minutes ago I was getting up to begin my day....but it has been almost 18 hours!
Here is just a brief glimpse to how my day went....
5:00 wake up to first alarm
5:20 actually drag my sleepy body out of bed for the day (yes, I have 2 alarms going off--one in the bathroom. This means that I get out of bed, walk to the bathroom, hit snooze, walk back to the bed and climb in.)
6:08 answer a phone call from a cheerleader who didn't pay attention last Thursday when we told them no practice today
6:20 Leave for work
6:35 Stop at Sonic for Route 44 Raspberry Tea
6:45 Arrive at work and let picture people in (Today was school picture day)
7:15 tell B about cheerleader who showed up for practice
7:25 Call J who was having a meltdown
7:35 hunt down almost all of my cheerleaders to give them an important note
7:45 put warm ups on the board for the day
7:50 hall duty
8:00 class begins. This is the first day in a long time that I have to teach the whole day! (I have a student teacher who will be out all of this week.) It was actually quite refreshing
9:30 take school picture/meet with rest of my team/run around doing different school errands (finish passing out notes to cheerleaders, meet with counselor, work on red ribbon week) surprise other counselor with a gift--more on that later!
11:00 class begins--run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get projects finished...computers can be so difficult to deal with!!! take pictures of kids who have won awards
1:00 class begins--most draining class of the day--also the smallest math class I have Love the kids, but the routine wasn't set from the beginning...have to get them "in-line."
2:30 homeroom begins. We have chant practice
3:30 meet with a parent/do some record keeping
5:00 keep books at volleyball game
7:30 come home and eat dinner
8:30 talk to J on the phone...then talk to another friend J...text N and then talk to N on the phone.
9:45 check blog/email/website and catch up on my other blogs and daily readings
10:50-something post this message, log off and go to bed--I hope.
Even though I've been up so long, I know I will have a hard time going to sleep. I don't know why...I just can't sleep. And, I'll probably wake up before the alarm goes off at 5:00 again tomorrow!
