End of the Month

I am so happy to see September coming to a close. This month has been filled with all sorts of unpredictable events--mostly sad.

We had Hurricane Ike, the loss of Paul Newman (WHAT BEAUTIFUL EYES HE HAD!!!!!), the loss of my good friend's grandma, the financial upheaval in America, and the closing of Yankee Stadium. There are probably a lot more that I don't even know/remember.

September did have some good moments, too. The Cubs clinched their division and are headed to the playoffs for the second straight year (this hasn't happened since 1907-1908), and a co-worker became a grandma, to name just two.

Let's hope October brings only good memories!
